Descriptions

Saguaro
Split into two districts on either side of Tucson, this park protects forests of giant saguaro cactus, the icon of the Sonoran Desert. Visitors come for desert hikes, wildflowers in spring, and sunsets behind the towering cacti.
Sequoia
Home to some of the largest trees on Earth, including the General Sherman Tree, the biggest tree by volume. The park also covers Sierra Nevada granite peaks, caves, and Mount Whitney’s neighboring high country.
Shenandoah
Set along the Blue Ridge Mountains, this park is known for Skyline Drive, a 105-mile scenic road, plus waterfalls, wildlife, and more than 500 miles of hiking trails, including a stretch of the Appalachian Trail.
